Blue Light Filters FAQs

What is the Difference between Blue Light Screen Filters and Apps such as Nightshift and Flux?

Night shift or other apps work well for some people, but unless you’re only planning to use your devices in the evening or orange is your favourite colour, it’s not practical. The blue light screen filters we sell at Grounded Wellness are from UK company Ocushield. With Ocushield, you don’t need to turn any software on or cloud your screen with an orange hue. Ocushield filters absorb the harmful blue light, giving 98% colour accuracy, meaning you can stay protected day and night - without having to make the choice of colour, over protection.

How Much Blue Light do Ocushield Filters Block?

Developed by qualified optometrists, Ocushield medically-rated products effectively block up to 99% of harmful UV & blue light emissions between 300-400nm and up to 40% of harmful blue light between 400-470nm.

What Are They Made Of and Can They Be Cut Down to Size?

Ocushield screen protectors for mobile phones and iPads are made of high quality tempered glass to protect both your eyes and screens. As you can imagine, cutting glass won’t work too well, so we don’t advise it. Ocushield screen filters for MacBooks and laptops are made of plastic and can be cut down if needed though - but be careful.

Is the Ocushield Screen Protector Permanently Attached to the Laptop Screen?

No. It is removable. Note – reapplying after removal means the finish is not flush as when first applied.

Will the Ocushield Screen Protector Cause Clarity Issues?

Unlike other blue light filters, Ocushield won’t turn your screen a retro orange colour and keeps 95% clarity for a crystal clear picture. So unless orange is your favourite colour. You can enjoy blue light protection without any changes to your view.

How Long Will the Ocushield Screen Protector Last?

With everyone using their devices everyday extensively, Ocushield screen protectors usually have a lifespan of 2 years before they need replacing due to wear and tear.
